How to Apply & Remove Your Pressedtify Nails
What’s included in your kit:
✿ Pressedtify nail set (pre-shaped & pre-etched)
✿ Adhesive sticky tabs
✿ Alcohol prep pads
✿ Cuticle pusher
✿ Mini file + buffer
✿ Nail glue
Wear-time guide:
Glue: up to 1–2+ weeks (with great prep).
Sticky tabs: 1–4 days (great for events).
Application (Glue or Sticky Tabs)
Step 1 — Prep (Most Important!)
- Wash & dry hands. Remove any polish.
- Push back cuticles with the pusher; lift any cuticle skin off the nail plate (this is where lifting starts) ➝ pro tip: use a cuticle softener and remove all excess.
- Shape & lightly buff the natural nail surface (just enough to remove shine).
- Dehydrate with the alcohol wipe to clean all remaining debris.
Step 2 — Application
Option A — Nail Glue (Longest Wear)
- Lay the nails out left ➝ pro tip: work from pinky to thumb, leaving your thumbs for the very end for easier application.
- Place each tip on the nail to confirm fit/angle.
- Glue placement:
✿ Add a thin, even layer of glue to your natural nail (avoid getting too close to the cuticle and avoid contact with the skin).
✿ Add a small dot inside the press-on near the cuticle end (this is great for extra hold and to prevent spillage).
- Apply at 45°∠ Tuck the cuticle edge first, then roll the nail down to the free edge to avoid bubbles.
- Press & hold for 30 seconds. Keep steady pressure but not too hard, this process shouldn’t hurt ➝ pro tip: after applying the nail, press on the sidewalls for 15 seconds to get a good seal.
- Repeat for all nails.
Set time: Avoid water, steam, lotions, and oils for 2 hours (overnight is ideal).
Pro Glue Tips
✿ Too much glue = flooding/cuticle lift; too little = air pockets. Aim for thin & even.
✿ If glue gets on skin, don’t wipe while wet (it smears). Let it dry, then gently roll off.
✿ Using a table to support your hand while you press on the nail helps with precision.
Option B — Adhesive Sticky Tabs (Fast & Reusable)
- Choose a tab size that matches your nail plate (tab shouldn’t touch skin or cuticle).
- Apply the tab to your natural nail, press and secure around the edges for 5–10 seconds to warm it up.
- Peel film, then place the press-on at a 45° angle (cuticle first) and roll forward.
- Press & hold 15-30 seconds.
- Repeat for all nails
Set Time: Avoid water and oils for 2 hours for best bond.
Pro Sticky Tips
✿ Tabs are perfect for short wear or photoshoots.
✿ To re-wear: peel off old tab from the tip with the pointy side of your cuticle pusher by twisting it across the nail, clean the inside with alcohol, apply a fresh tab.
Removal — Warm Water w/ Soap + Oil Bowl (Gentle Method)
Never force or rip off a nail. If it resists, keep soaking.
A common question we get is: “When do I know it’s time to take them off?”
If you notice natural outgrowth, lifting around the edges, or it simply feels like the nails have loosened from wear, it’s the right time. If the nails still feel firmly bonded (especially with glue), give them a little more wear-time before removal.
⚠️ Trying to take them off too soon can cause damage to your natural nails — glue bonds are strong, and forcing them before they’re ready can peel away layers of your nail plate. Patience and soaking are the safest way to keep your nails healthy and reusable.
Step-by-step for an easy and gentle removal
- Prepare a bowl of warm (not hot) water. Add a pump of dish soap and a pump of oil (cuticle oil, olive, or coconut).
- Soak 10–15 minutes. Keep the water warm; top up with warm water as needed.
- Gently test for lift at the sidewalls with the cuticle pusher (never from the free edge) ➝ pro tip: pressing your fingertips to the bottom of the bowl helps open up the cuticle area for easier removal.
- If it’s still snug, re-soak 5–10 minutes. Patience preserves your natural nails.
- Once off, dry and remove residue: wipe glue/adhesive gently with oil on a cotton pad, then lightly buff any stubborn bits.
- Wash hands, then hydrate with cuticle oil ʚ♡ɞ
Using sticky tabs? They’ll usually slide off sooner in the same soak — just glide the pusher under the side carefully.
Make Them Last Longer — Care Tips
✿ Prep is everything: thorough cuticle cleanup, buff, and alcohol dehydrate - in that order.
✿ Keep nails short underneath so tips seat fully.
✿ Dry time: No water/steam/oils for 2 hours after application.
✿ Gloves on for cleaning, dishes, hair washing, and gardening.
✿ Mind the edges: If a corner starts to lift, add a tiny drop of glue, press 20–30 seconds, then avoid water for an hour.
✿ Avoid lotions & sunscreen right before application (they kill adhesion).
✿ Daily love: Cuticle oil around (not under) the nails to keep them flexible and fresh.
✿ Carry a mini fix kit: spare tabs or a travel glue + mini file.
✿ Fit > force: If a nail feels tight at the sidewalls, remove and file the tip sides—don’t push into the skin.
✿ Activity check: If you lift weights or type a lot, consider shorter lengths/shapes for longevity.
Safety & Allergies
✿ If you’ve ever reacted to nail glue/adhesives, patch test first (a tiny amount on one nail for 24 hours).
✿ Avoid skin contact with glue. If it occurs, let it dry and gently roll off or use oil—do not pull or use solvents on skin.
✿ Keep products away from eyes and children.
